CAIRNFERN ACCOMMODATION
The Sycamore accommodation associated with Cairnfern Lodge includes all rooms within walking distance of the venue halls. The sprawling accommodation options includes accommodation up to 40 people, and includes the historical Farm House, which accommodates up to 8 guests in 4 en-suite rooms, plus 12 guests in 6 en-suite rooms in “The Paddocks”, 12 guests in 6 en-suite rooms in “The Ferns”, 4 guests in 2 en-suite rooms in “The Brewery”, 2 guests in the “The Carriage House”, and 2 guests in "The Oaks".
Cairnfern is a luxury, self-catering lodge situated on a 300 ha property in the Mpumalanga Highlands Trout Triangle. The historical farmhouse consists of four luxury en-suite bedrooms in the main lodge - all with full bathrooms (bath and shower), and three of the bedrooms have french doors opening onto the large verandah overlooking the horse paddock, whilst the fourth bedroom opens into a tiny garden courtyard. There is a large lounge with fireplace, separate dining room (also with a fireplace), a fully equipped kitchen, and an outdoor boma area consisting of a covered section with a picnic table and pizza oven, as well as an open area for braaing. The fifth en-suite room is in The Carriage House (a lovely cozy log cabin close to the lodge).
The fireplaces in the lounge and dining-room are prepared, lit, and cleaned by the staff daily, and the boma fire is prepared and lit for you when needed.
"The Oaks" is a beautiful, private cottage away from the main lodge, under the Oak Trees.
“The Paddocks” is situated approximately 200m from the venues, and consists of 6 en-suite rooms, all with their own tea and coffee making facilities, a bar fridge and a microwave oven. Very similar is "The Ferns", which also consist of 6 en-suite rooms with verandahs overlooking the venues.
There are four stocked dams for the fly-fishing enthusiast (stocked with rainbow trout) – ideal for those who want to unwind after a busy day for a few hours! For the non-fishermen there are lovely forest and mountain walks (to a waterfall), or just relax under the oak trees or read on the patio! Cairnfern has numerous species of buck as well as other game which are indigenous to the area, and it has also become a popular destination for birdwatchers and mountain cyclists!
